"Updating License Will Expire Soon"??

I have Avast! 4.1 Pro installed, and when I go to About Avast! and check under Registration, it indicates that the registration key I’ve inputted allows the program and updates never to expire. But just recently, I always get a pop-up message from Avast! during startup that says my Updating License will expire soon. How come? thanks in advance…

You can use the program forever.
You can only update avast! 4.1 Trial version over 60 days.
avast! Professional version over 12 months
avast! Home version over 14 months.

Can I help you more?

oh, okay… hmm… i wonder why they had to limit it though… so how do i extend the updating license? must i reinstall the program again? thanks

Liitle add-on. For Pro there are licenses for 12, 24 and 36 months.
No need to reinstall, just buy a new license and enter the new key in Avast.

in case i’d rather not buy a new license, will reinstalling avast solve it?

I’m afraid it won’t.
avast! uses the same policy as the other antivirus programs do: your license is valid only for a specific time period; after that, you have to purchase a new license if you want to keep receiving updates (or rather - extend your current one, which is cheaper). In any case, you’ll need a new license key.

alright… thanks a lot guys

btw how do i get rid of the avast! popup message that keeps telling me that my license is about to expire. i keep getting it during startup. thanks

See ‘Settings’ on my signature… browse a little and enjoy the power of avast! configuration

thanks… i tired inserting the “SuppressExpirationWarning” text into my avast4.ini file, but it didn’t work… i set its value to 1 and place the line of text under [common], but nothing worked… i still get the popup message… how do i go about it? thanks in advance

The line should be under [AAVM] section, not [Common]

oh yeah! thanks!

??? Wasn’t it there in my post? ???

It was
