Updating RegCleaner will make Avast (free) warn for Win32:Spyware-gen(tri)

Updating RegClean will make Avast (free) warn for Win32:Spyware-gen(tri) Trojan-horse, in the setupfile setupxv.exe (http://download.regclean.com/setupxv.exe)

Is this a fake update and really a trojan-horse or maybe Avast is to sensitive or What ?
Can anyone tell ?

Welcome kalixberen

RegClean is not a recommended application:
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/regclean.com

If you want a good registry cleaner then get RegSeeker:
http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

If you are running Win 2000 or XP then download the registry optimizer NTREGOPT:

Thanks for the advice!

RegSeeker hasn’t had an update in some time, current version is 1.55. As far as updating there is no update within the program, but the about RegSeeker gives a link to the Hoverdesk site where you can check for a later version.

Just download the latest version which is in a zip file, extract the latest version and copy it into your existing folder, replacing the current files.

You’re welcome.

Anyway, seems a false positive, doesn’t it? ???

Quite possibly but we won’t know until/unless confirmed at virustotal, but I guess when the source is suspect we are recommending looking elsewhere.
