updating via download from web site

This is probably a very silly question…
But i can’t figure out how to update Avast using the “vpsupd.exe” file which i downloaded from the avast web site.
I have transferred said file to the computer which needs it (BTW it’s not connected to the internet) but where do i go from there?

Thanks, in advance.

Chris

What do you mean?
If the computer is connected, you don’t need to use the vpsupd.exe file, just invoke the update through the icon on system tray.
If you double-click (execute) the vpsupd.exe, the update will be performed and a message will tell you when finished.
Please, do not ‘open’ the file when downloading. ‘Save’ it first to your computer and execute it from there.

Computer A has broadband internet connection, so i downloaded vpsupd.exe, and then transferred it to computer B.
B does not have internet connection, but does need updating. So i now understand that i just run vpsupd.exe on B - and presumably it’s a painless process.
