Updating?

Hi All:
Question about updating: when I force an update, it returns a message that I have the up to date Vps version 0513-2, but when I go to about Avast, it shows I have version 0511-1.

On an unrelated problem, occasionally it seems the program prevents me from surfing. If I go in an disable the program, I can surf again. I can bring the program back up later, and all is well again.

Any thoughts on either?

I would suggest that you try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.

If that doesn’t work try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.

Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a try. Would this be to fix the surfing problem, or the updating issue, or both?
Should have added, using XP home, IE, and ZA Free.

Scott, only the test will answer… probably both.
If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

The repair function seems to have helped the updating problem, will have to see what happens with the next update. So far so good on the web surfing problem! Thanks for your help!! ;D
