I was notified of an update to avast antitheft. I tried upgrading but on installation method page, selecting direct write method does not work. It says "Could not write to /system directory (Permission Denied). Retry (it is recommended to retry at least one time)? Selecting YES just goes back to the error.
Recovery Image Method also does not work either (edify or amend).
I have a samsung galaxy y pocket with android gingerbread 2.3.6 rooted with avast mobile security with antitheft.
How to upgrade?
