Thanks for the suggestion, I have no gripes with the forum, you guys are a fantastic resource!
Catch 22
To get the log I have to re-install Avast.
If I re-install Avast, I cannot connect to the internet, OR post on this forum. That means I have to re-install, run the logs. Uninstall and run avast cleaner. Uninstall my ethernet adapter and reload it, and then reset my windows network. AND for each possible (i say again “possible”) fix I have to jump through all of those hoops every time I want to try a solution. I have to test the solutions on this machine, but I need this machine to be up and running correctly.
I see diminishing returns on my investment of time.
Maybe Avast will get it back together in a year or so, but right now it is literally more trouble than the license is worth.
