I have just upgraded to Avast 5 Pro from Avast 4 Pro. The installation and inserting the license was straightforward and it seems to work OK. But every time I reboot (Windows XP Home) I get this message during the boot up process “The add-i C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashoutXt.dll could not be installed or loaded …” There is obviously no \Avast4\ folder on the machine now after Avast5 installed. Does anyone have any information on this? Clicking the OK button gets rid of the warning and the machine then operates normally. I just want to kill this message. Any help appreciated.
We appear to be experiencing the same problem

The replies have not yet led me to a resolution, but feel free to jump in and see what is suggested.
Check my reply in that topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=57592.msg485997#msg485997 posted after your reply here.
I now have a solution to the problem reported. It is related to a Add-in from Avast 4 in Outlook. I removed this via Tolls/Options/General Tab/Add-in Manager. Uncheck the box for Avast4 Add-in and then click Remove. Rebooting the machine replaces with the Add-in from Avast 5 and the message has gone.
Thanks for the feedback, this is what I was suggesting/implying in the other topic I mentioned.
If so check your MS Outlook version and see if there are references to two avast plug-ins installed.
Glad that you have it resolved though.
