Uprade of Avast intenet security slows internet to a crawl

Since I upgraded it takes minutes for a page to load. If i disable Avast I have blazing speed. Even Avast times out it’s so slow.
Changing the network from public to Private helped for an hour or so, but then it went back to crazy slow speed.

Wrong forum, but my shiny new Avast VPN refuses to connect, too.

Is there a fix? Or should I ask for a refund and go back to the far superior free version?

If that is your License you should edit your post and remove the license.
It’s recommended, you don’t need to display that.

For your issue, when you upgraded did you do a custom install so as to choose which Avast components you want installed and “uncheck” those extras you don’t want then reboot.
