So…I upgraded to the Avast PREMIUM security protection for $84/yr, and now I keep getting notifications that I need to upgrade again to Avast CLEANUP PREMIUM to fix all of the issues the software finds during a scan, at another $65 a year. What gives? I thought the Avast Premium security would cover this. Why do I now have to purchase another product? Why not just have one product that covers everything someone would need? That’s $150 a year for both. Misleading.

Personally most people can handle their own CleanUp - these promotions are just that, I wouldn’t call that a necessity.

With a resident (on-access) scanner like the Avast PREMIUM security, the need for on-demand scans (Smart or otherwise) is much depreciated. For the most part dormant/inert files are being scanned, the other active files are going to be scanned by the resident shields when they are activated.

Agreed. I just need to figure out how to turn off the sales pop-ups that show up multiple times a day on my screen.

I don’t know if they would ever be completely gone, not doing scans is one action, another is adjusting your notification settings, see image.

It’s a shame, I probably get less notifications and I use Avast Free.

Thanks. I don’t run the reports and still get pop-ups that say things like “we found x number of compromising things on your computer. Scan now to correct them.” I’ll get into settings and turn off notifications.

Unfortunately running a Scan, Smart or otherwise is likely to reinforce the suggestion to correct then, to get another Avast product.

I would also suggest that you adjust your Personal Privacy settings (previous attached image),

You may have more as I’m on Avast Free and uncheck those that you don’t want or need. Avast UI > Menu > Settings > General > Personal Privacy.- ** you can additionally stop seeing offers for other Avast products.in Avast Premium I believe.
I have been doing some more digging, also see - https://support.avast.com/en-gb/article/antivirus-popup-notifications/#pc - relating to notifications.

The above may help to keep notifications/promotions down to a dull roar.
