Urgent help needed! Stuck in endless Full System Scan!!

Hope someone can help me quickly with this.

Avast seems to have gone mad its continuously doing a full system scan over and over draining the battery on the laptop and causing it to get VERY hot.

Ive tried clicking the STOP button but it just starts again from 0%. Tried rebooting etc dont know what else to do other than ditch it and try another antivirus?

I had the same problem on 2 machines today, it was a scheduled scan.

Eventually managed to stop the scans and quickly delete the scheduled scan. But it took a lot of persistance :frowning:

Out of curiosity, does anyone with this issue have the latest version of Malwarebytes installed? Yesterday I updated Malwarebytes and tried to run a full scan. It kept getting stuck so I had to abort. I rebooted into Safe Mode but it wouldn’t start properly; the processor light came on and it just sat there processing for an abnormally long time so I quit by pressing the power button. Tried again and same thing. When I started again normally Windows Defender was disabled. Finally I uninstalled Malwarebytes and everything went back to normal. Just wondering if there might be a connection.

Must have been related to the Daylight saving time change. The scheduler got somewhat confused.
