Check in the Full Scan log .txt file, see this folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\report, that is for XP, Vista ets will be in Users or something like that rather than docs & settings.…\avast5\report
The folder may be hidden so you need to have the view hidden files and folders option selected in windows explorer, I don’t know how to find that in win7 (I don’t use it).
OMG…THERE IS NO “REPORT” FOLDER IN AVAST5 FOLDER!!! WHAT HAPPENED? WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
SHOULD I REINSTALL THE AVAST? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE…HELP ME GET RID OF THIS
are you sure you check the correct folder? As DavidR states, on Win 7 it is NOT the standard c/progam files/avast folder but c/programdata folder which default is hidden so you have to change your folder viewing setup in Windows Explorer to ‘show hidden folders’. After that you should see the c/program data folder, in which there is a subfolder ‘reports’…
anothermark—> yeah i found it…thanks…but it does not contain much information…i still have no idea for the problem…everytime i do full system scan, the result shows " NO THREAT FOUND" but the “infected file:1”…i have no idea on this…avast team, please guide me…do i need to reinstall it? if reinstall, can i use the same license?
huhuhu
So you found the file but it does not give you any information except that the Infected file name is “1”?
What other security software do you have on your machine now or in the past?
Please check your computer for malware with Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM).
· Download freehttp://www.malwarebytes.org/ for an on-demand scanner.
· Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
· After install, click update so you have latest database before scanning.
· Under Settings:
o General: Automatically Save File After Scan Completes is checked off
o Scanner Settings: Check all boxes
o Updater: Download and install update if available is checked off
· Once the program has loaded, select “Perform FULL Scan”, then click Scan.
· The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
· When the disinfection scan is complete, a log will appear in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Extra Note).
· Click the “remove selected” button to quarantine anything found. You will find the infection details under the Quarantine tab.
· The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
· Copy & Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you

then last night, i did a boot scan using avast, and it found nothing…
now avast full system scan is running, and the result is as in the photo attached…
??? so, conclusion is? help me please…
You have your settings wrong for MBAM. Look at my directions for MBAM again - see below.
If you deleted the infection, it could still be on your machine…that is why you need to put it into quarantine.
Remember you need to update MBAM prior to doing a scan every time.
When you did the Avast boot scan, if you open the Avast GUI > Scan Computer > Scan Logs > click on the item you want to see results to highlight it > on the bottom of the page click on “View Results” button. Does it give you more information?
You found them…the snapshot shows the malware is now quarantined. Do NOT delete them…leave them there.
Next I want you to download CCleaner. It is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. There is a Slim version available as well at http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds - 4th option down. It removes unused files (cache, temporary Internet files, etc.) from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner but don’t run the registry cleaner now. I want to clean your machine.
Then I want you to download Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop.
b4 this i got cc-cleaner,uni-blue registry booster, tune-up utilites, wondershare, etc on my pc…but i already removed them form my pc bcoz i thought they are useless…n sometimes made my pc mess-up…
are they really useful?
i read many posts/comments about registry cleaner softwares, most of comments say it’s useless coz sometimes it removes important files from our pc, etc…n worsen pc performance…i dont know how true is it
so i wonder if i need to re-install any of them back onto my pc???
Install the ones I told you to because I need you to clean up certain files. After this, I am going to have you download a diagnostic tool for malware removal.
Edit: I don’t want you to install the other ones you had…only the ones I put in my last post.
After doing your clean up, and since it is obvious in your MBAM log that you have malware, I would next like you to check the information on the first post of this thread under Virus/Worms for you to check your machine for malware: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0.
Follow the directions of obtaining the OTL logs. Attach the two (2) OTL logs as an attachment (Additional Options > Attach > Browse (the logs will be on your desktop > Post).
I am going to refer you to one of our Certified Malware Experts, named Essexboy, however he cannot intervene until you have posted your OTL logs. Until then, I will be following you. While he is working with you, I will be monitoring in the background.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
