Avast 6.0.1367 Network Shield suddenly started blocking Yahoo mail attachments from downloading even though some of the attachments had been successfully downloaded before.

Yahoo’s built-in Norton indicates no virus found in attachment. If Avast is disabled, the suspect file downloaded, then scanned with Avast, no virus is found.

MBAM and MSRT scans showed no problems.

The blocked url is: http://ne1.attach.mail.ymail.com/us.f1255.mail.com/ya/securedownload?

How are the network shield settings changed to recognize the virus-free attachments in Yahoo Mail as safe?

Hello,
it was problem on our side not on user’s site.
We receive many alerts from yahoo emails and unfortunately, even when we trying whitelist those pages really fast, sometimes we block those pages.

I have just checked and the fault is still present, meaning I am unable to download attachments from my email account with AVAST installed.

Does your response mean you are unable to fix the fault?

Can you try to update your VPS and try it one more time please? It was fixed and released in today’s 0 virus definition update.
