URL:Mal -avast popup

I have visited a well known site for years and yesterday I started getting this

Details

URL:

there is a link (not for the site the popup is on) am I allowed to post it?

Process:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox…

Infection:

URL:Mal

I did a avast scan it showed nothing,I did a malware byte scan it showed nothing either.

I went back to the site today and it popped up again today.I also got it on 2 other sites and I can’t recall what they were.

What other scan can I do and why did this start all of a sudden.

Thanks so much!

there is a link (not for the site the popup is on) am I allowed to post it?
yes so we can check.... but post it none clickable.... http as hxxp and www as wxw

URL:mal means the url is on a block list…for whatever reason

like I said it is not the link to a well known site but I was just told it may be an ad on that site that is linked.

you are not the only one to see this one

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=114524.msg892176#msg892176

what was the website you tried to access…post none clicable

yes I read that post,thanks!

It is wxw.realtor.com

it is not on the home page though it pops up on a page I am looking at homes on and It may be
page 13 or 14 or so if that matters.

How do I let that site know?

Thank you!

I just got that same popup on our local paper site, this is too strange. I see others posting the same popup listing the same site linked in the popup. How do we make people aware of this. It is like it is spreading to alot of sites that have never had popup warnings before.

Thanks!

Sorry to insert myself into this thread but I have an ongoing unresolved thread about this specific pop up warning that I have also never received before and all my Avast scans and Malwarebytyes scans are showing no infections.

I remember a while back Avast started throwing false positive warnings and a fix was applied. I also see that there have been several recent postings about sudden malware pop up warnings that users have not gotten before. Can a moderator or a malware removal expert offer an opinion as to whether this is a false positive that Avast is throwing up for some reason?

bossfan

Thanks for your input. I am thinking like you that it is an avast issue. I just wish we knew for sure.

It is just too weird that all of a sudden this starts and we all seem to have avast or so it seems.
Maybe we need to take a poll of you has avast and who is having this issue all of a sudden.

Thanks!

i am having the same problem and i am geting increasing frustrated with this i was reading manga on mangapanda.com and i got the same popup then on my other laptop which i just got repaired new hardrive and eveything that i just installed avast on it detected the same problem while downloading adobe flashplayer what is going on

increasing frustration

Here’s why avast! is blocking this: http://zulu.zscaler.com/submission/show/8b99bbd29785d64db11df6b20c5083de-1360400725

Now look at a related link (3) scanned in red on the page above: http://zulu.zscaler.com/submission/show/6d5bfb91044b842a289b957d2867079f-1358158835

Much more frustrating to get infected, no? [EDIT:] These are linked sites to the first and were previously infected.
