URL:Mal infection

Hi guys,

My avast keeps popping up every time i start firefox and when i am using firefox it randomly pops up. This is really frustrating. I scan my PC with Avast and Malwarebytes but that doesn’t fix the problem.

Please help

The one advantage of torrents and cracks is that you get to try out all the new malware first

You must uninstall Chrome first, it can be re-installed later

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Hi

I probably fucked up. I forgot to uninstall the chrome first. I did all the steps u told me to do but i run FRST.exe first and then i saw that i need to uninstall chrome so i do it after that. After all of that i run the AdwCleaner.exe and clean as u said. Now i have some problem with firefox. When i was try to run the firefox first time after all of these steps it crashes and i got these message: “Firefox closed unexpectedly while starting. This might be cause by add-ons or other problems. You can try to resolve the problem by troubleshooting in Safe mode. You can also skip troubleshooting and try refreshing Firefox” So i chose the “Refresh Firefox” option. After that firefox starts but i lost my bookmarks, passwords, tabs, add-ons etc. I had firefox sync enabled so i log in in to it and start syncing. In one moment the Adblock plus add-on was installed, probably because i had it before and then firefox crashes again and i got the same message.

EDIT: I started firefix sync again but these time i was disable Add-ons syncing. I install Adblock plus manually and for now everything works fine. And the most important thing is that there is no pop up messages from avast anymore.

How is the computer behaving now ?

Everything works fine except iCloud bookmarks Add-on. Every time I try to enable it I got the same massage "Firefox closed unexpectedly while starting… "
Then I need to start firefox in safe mode and disable add-on. That isn’t really important for me right now, I disabled it and I will eventually find the solution for this problem.

The most important thing of all is that there is no more annoying pop ups from avast and I am very tankful for that.

So thank You very much essexboy for your help, You are a life saver.

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

: Keep Java Updated :

WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java
See this article

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Malwarebytes.

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean
