hello all
Irish computer disaster here to annoy you again !!!
ok here goes ,
we have a laptop (win xp pro avast pro mbam pro ) but when i want to transfer a file from my c drive to usb key it takes an extremely longtime .A friend told me that I don’t have usb 2 software ???I hope that my explaination makes sense to somebody .
If you don’t have the software/drivers for usb 2.0 you should google, download and install it.
But if your hardware only supports usb 1.0, downloading new drivers wont speed things up.
asyn
you shouldn’t need to install any additional software, the drivers you need are in XP pro. If the file transfer is too slow, you got a hardware issue may be, your laptop is really old
I don’t think downloading new drivers would solve your issue, as, again, XP integrates USB 2.0 drivers … you got XP SP3 right? (IIRC, not quite sure but I think support for USB 2.0 must have started with SP1).
no if you already got SP3 installed no need to reinstall it will be a waste of time. I think your hardware (CPU/RAM) is probably responsible for the slow transfer rate. There’s not much you can do about it.
