Why is the interface coming on when i start up the PC, and how do I keep it off ?? I feel like am using Avira.
It shouldn’t come on by default. Somewhere in your system is a shortcut/startup (other than the default /nogui one)/run command/registry entry, etc. that is opening it.
Try a registry search for avastUI.exe and report the findings, key and value.
if anyone else can give me a heads up on this. its not hurting anything buts its an annoyance. If any of you out there is good with the registry.
Please do as DavidR requested. He knows what he’s talking about.
Tried everything, even tried the removal tool and reinstalling still the same thing. I guess I just don’t know enough about PCs to grasp what is the cause.70 hard years and the brain says no you dont. Unless someone can walk me through it,
Here is the only thing I can find.

That isn’t in the registry, that is just the file properties from the actual in the avast folder.
For this to run/open, there has to be a command to run it, there should be one in the msconfig startup tab entries created by avast but that has /nogui after it, meaning it doesn’t open the window.
The only other area could be in the registry, so you have to search for the avastUI.exe value in the registry (I can’t do that for you).
Solved the problem by deleting all the avast files one at a time until I found the one I wanted reinstaled Avast.
