"usi GetSkin" faled!

When I scan my computer for irregularities I get the message that ‘usiGetSkin Failed. In the FAQ help is issued that I should insert the command "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.exe ACTSKIN.OCX’'. in RUN.

But when I do so I get the same fault message ‘usiGetSkin failed’.
What can I do next? Now I cannot scan my computer anymore.
Please please, a helpful answer would help me no end!

Would reinstalling Avast Home be the answer?

About the “usigetskin failed” issue, if the repair does not solve it:
You will have to register ACTSKIN4.OCX
Follow the instructions:

Select START > RUN…
Enter the following command:
If you have Windows NT or 2000:
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
If you have Windows 95, 98 or ME:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
If you have Windows XP/Vista:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX
If you have Windows XP/Vista x64:
C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4.OCX

Press OK (or Enter).
A message saying that the file was successfully registered should appear…

For some reason, ActiveSkin (the 3rd party library avast uses for skinning) does not seem to be working on your system. As a workaround, we may disable skinning in avast - that should solve the problem.

To do that, open the file \data\avast4.ini, look up the [UserInterface] section, and add the following entry:
StartWithSkin=0

i have the same issued and just solve it by your tips but how to change the skin with the default skin before?

With the Simple User Interface open, right click the skin in the middle, click the Select Skin option. There are a couple of other skins, but you can also get more. Clicking the Get more skins from our www server now! link. Now you can select other skins that can be installed.

Note when version 5.0 there will be no more skins, but a new User Interface.

thank you. i had fix it

No problem, glad I could help.
