Are you saying that earthlink has its own email client or is the email web based, e.g. do you view your mail using your browser?
What is your OS?
If you use an email client (such as Outlook Express) to download your email then Internet Mail protection protects you and should be compatible.
If you use a web based service to view your email then avast’s Standard Shield gives resident protection - In the near future there will be even more protection for browsing the web when version 4.6 is released (not too long).
So avast should give you adequate protection and I doubt any compatibility issues.
Earthlink has it’s own mail client, Earthlink Mailbox. I’m currently using Microsoft Outlook as it was the default setting.
I’m currently using a PC with Windows 98SE, FYI.
