uTorrent.exe Win32:Poison-DU

Hi!

After VPS 080427-0 update, Avast! 4.8 Pro says my uTorrent.exe has a virus, Win32:Poison-DU.

I can’t even download uTorrent.exe version 1.7.7 from the uTorrent homepage, Avast! stops the download with
the same viruswarning.

Yes I have the same problem. I almost got heartattack after update and avast notification (i had my speakers on loud :)). I hope you will soon correct false positive, becouse many will have to disable protection (as did I) so they can use torent client.

Confirming, this happened to me aswell today, really annoying. Gonna have to go without antivirus for a while.

I downloaded uTorrent 1.8 Beta (9704) from the uTorrent webpage, and installed it. No viruswarning this time.

My torrent “Meine 37 Portable USB Stick Programme” contains uTorrent 1.7.
There is NO Virus, it is an false Avast alert.
Take the new Version uTorrent 1.8 Beta (9704) and any thing is ok.

Same here, I get the fp but Utorrent still work here, so I will go with Avast! as usual… :wink:

I confirm the issue. It aborts connection when trying to dowload or run the 1.7 version of uTorrent, no problem with beta 1.8 version
