[b]For some reason avast is not showing up on my husbands desktop he is running Windows XP and it is saying C:\Program Files\Alwl Software\AvastUIexe.
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect reinstalling the application may fix this problem
But still see it scans e mail where can I find what I need to re install

have you tried avast repair ?
For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
and you have of course removed/uninstalled the AV you used before avast!

Well I tried that and it still didn’t work avast is not showing up on reboot when I click on avast on the desktop there is still the same message … should I re install again?
