v2016 GUI?

Are there any plans to make the GUI so that the use will be able to customize the GUI?

IMHO, this GUI leaves a lot to be desired.

Even less shortcut options than previously and the long promised avast tray icons haven’t materialised either.

Other than a short cut to the Run SafeZone browser, which I can’t see me using and there doesn’t appear to be a way of removing it. It was never previously available in the free version and I rather thought it wouldn’t be.

Once more the start point of the UI has masses of white space most of it empty - and no way to resize the UI main page - only when you click one of the icons does it change. I didn’t like the though of clicking Scan as my first impression would be that it run a scan of sorts, not expand to other options.

I have just tried the add-remove programs and removed SafeZone Browser and Passwords (I manage my own). I thought I might be stuck with them.

The new tray options might not be in with the first release but will be added for sure in one of the updates

SafeZona and Passwords seem to be uncheckable right now

I have just removed them without issue and the UI reflects these removals. Very minimal now.

There is a bug with SafeZone browser where you can’t uncheck it during installation, but you can remove it later…

Updating from the UI (if previously a beta user) doesn’t give the option to do a custom install. It was only after update/installation that I was able to remove them.

I guess they wanted as many as possible to use these, certainly for the beta.

I do like the new detection popup though. It even got fixed somehow so there is no empty space on the side anymore (at least for Web Shield detection).

I don’t see much point in the main interface though. A huge empty panel with tiny Smart Scan button in the middle and everything else traditionally crammed at the top in a small space. Why!?

Another UI Issue or functional Issue.
Network Security Scan shows a blank screen after scan.

It’s a known issue:

Hi,

SafeZone browser will be uncheck-able, it’s a bug.

Systray icon: didn’t finished redesign yet, so at least added the Virus Chest link, which was demanded

Main UI: Simplified the navigation to makes sense from top to down, also the main actions are now at the bottom instead of top right corner. Some items as Account and Statistics were removed from the main navigation as weren’t used that much as other items on the menu.

How do you like the orange buttons?

Is the overall contrast ok for you?

Thx
Martin

  1. The orange buttons are fine.

  2. What contrast?
It has about as much contrast as a blank sheet of white printer paper.

Too much empty space. GUI is “one step forward, two steps backwards”.

  1. Well there is only one on the home page of the UI, unless there are going to be more in the redesigned UI under the home page.

  2. The contrast in the free version is very poor - it looks completely washed out - given that this is a sunset scene, which you only see in the paid version. Considering the home page of the UI is very empty if the users deselects the items in the Tools section of a custom install. It looks pretty empty with acres of white space, is it possible to allow the home page of the UI to be resizeable.

I haven’t seen many white sunsets, so this doesn’t look great. Many of us do screenshots to help users and this appears to have been a high resolution image, taking screen captures can result in hi file sizes.

Nice in black

I’m not about to spend money just to get a better looking GUI.
The GUI should be the same for everyone irregardless of payment.
The difference between paid and free products is in the services/modules provided, not in the aesthetics.

Thanks guys, sunset will be gone in next beta.

Thank you.

Nothing wrong with the black (more natural) sunset, I have something like that on my mobile phone from a sunset image I took. It is just the washed out white (unnatural) sunset looks terrible.

Thanks!

Why?

Wouldn’t it be great to have a choice.

Sure.
