Since my laptop automatically updated to v4.8 every time NTBackup is part way through it’s daily scheduled backup, Avast jumps in and freezes the entire system until I answer yes or no to whether I want to allow ini file modification of NTbackup.ini.
It seems that the entire computer is frozen until I click “Yes”. Unfortunately I’m often away from my machine at this time and when I return, I’m expecting to pack it up and go home! Not answer a stupid question and then sit around for an hour and a half in the office waiting for the backup to complete, wondering how the family are doing at home!
a) exclude the avast4.ini from the backup utility.
b) I’m not sure if this has been resolved in the current beta build, 4.8.1178, but it is meant to be resolved for the next program update.
