v6 and Windows 2000 SP4?

Hello.

Am I reading correctly that v6 AV Free doesn’t have Windows 2000 SP4 support? If so, then how long will v5.x be supported and how does one renew/extend its free usage?

Looks like Avast needs to fix/update the information. We are getting conflicting information.

Thanks. I assume it works in old W2K SP4. Is it better than v5 on old PCs and W2K SP4 though?

Hi AntDude,

I use Version 6 FREE on my OS Windows 2000 Pro SP4 an it works very well!!!
No problems at the installation.

You can update from GUI or make a new clean install, which I do.

The performance of the pc is so good as it was with Version 5, perhaps a little bit better.

Just curious. Can I reuse the same e-mail address to register to extend the 30 days that I did in v5 too? Or do I have to use a new one?

Right!
I haven’t seen any bug till now and I test the new version since yesterday.

You can use the same one if you make a clean install!
I did it the same way - absolutly no problem!
Otherwise, when you update to version 6 over the GUI from version 5, you don’t need to register new.
