v8 Help File Link to avast! Web Site - forces IE launch?

On the bottom of the v8 help file page that shows the comparison table among the various versions of avast! there is a line that says:

Detailed information on prices can be found on our web pages.

Clicking on the “web pages” link, it tries to launch http://www.avast.com/

I say “tries” because it launches Internet Explorer to go to the link. However, I have disabled IE’s ability to browse the net (I don’t trust IE), so I just get a 404-type error.

This is admittedly a minor complaint, but why does an anti-virus program’s help screen link not launch the user’s default browser? Almost every other program I can remember uses the default browser.

Maybe if IE was known as the most secure browser out there, I might forgive such behavior. But to forcebly choose the one browser infamous for its security problems seems to be a weird move for an anti-virus developer.
