VBS:Malware [Script] Found.

Hey guys, my recent Avast scan picked up a handful of VBS:Malware [Script] stuff and I’ve never seen these before. They were actually found in the guest area but I haven’t used that login for ages. Anyways, please help out and let me know if this is anything to worry about or just some stupid shit HP put in my PC. By the way, my Avast Antivirus immediately detected this virus as soon as I logged into my hotmail account. And even after Avast completely scanned my system, it still found a virus by the same title as soon as I logged into my hotmail account again. Please help out and let me know of any further steps I should take. Thanks again everyone and I look forward to your replies. Peace.

Update: I just realized that there are several threads on this topic and I’ll be looking on those for answers as well. Looks like someone’s fucking with hotmail and that’s not cool.

Update#2: I tried the workaround presented in previous posts and the problem still persists. Fuck!!!

ADMIN: Watch your language!!

Please send the samples to virus@avast.com with the comment you believe these are false alarms.

Thanks.

This problem has been corrected by the virus definition file update VPS 761-1 so just make sure that you have updated to the latest VPS file.

How do we get the update (VPS 761-1)?

It should happen automatically unless you changed the auto-update settings. You can also do a manual update, right click the avast ‘a’ icon, select Updating, iAVS Update.
