Smart Scan is nothing like Quick Scan. The scan scope is a light year apart. Not to mention it doesn’t use any heuristics or emulation. To save seconds. My crappy netbook with Atom and 2GB of RAM does the scan in seconds even with high heuristics and emulation. Quick scan takes a minute. Removing it with excuse it’s about “saving time” is just silly. We have on-access scan, what’s the point of an on-demand scan when it hardly checks anything and even when it does it’s using so limited scope it’s a miracle if it ever detects anything that on-access hasn’t already anyway.
Quick scan on the other hand uses heuristics and emulation and has a wide scope. It actually makes sense having it there.
