Version: 18.2.2328

Just updated here using the UI and no problems found.

And finally, the task bar icon animation has been fixed!

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Can confirm Rescue Disk works in this version for both USB and CD discs. Fixed.

Which Google app you mean please?

Problem was with IE 64bit on Win7 64 bit, and it was fixed by VPS. So please update your virus definitions, if not updated yet automatically and problem should be gone

Just tried to update definitions, none available , problem still occurring :frowning:

Just tried again after waiting 15 mins . I can confirm now working for me running i5 64bit Windows 7

No issue here, have you tried an Avast Repair.

Whilst it is good that the quick scan is back, it is far from Quick. It was sat at 0% for some time and after that progress was pretty slow. Absolutely no comparison to the original Quick Scan, that was really ‘Quick.’

Settings > Protection > Scans > Custom Scans section - Quick Scan.

Been on this board a lot of years and I have never seen repair work for a single issue… now is no different. Didn’t work.

Additionally this is on two computers so it’s not a fluke.

Windows 10 64 bit Pro
Avast Free

If so, try a clean reinstall.

Same Problem. The automatic update does not work and no notification informs you that there is a new update.

If you do not follow the forum or do not open the program you will never notice that there is an update to download. And as a result, the program will remain obsolete with possible security problems

Best you start a new topic and provide details.

18.2.2328 runs smooth so far.Great work avast team.Just quickly fix GUI opening speed.

I can’t install it because I keep getting this error message. I used the Avast clear tool yesterday. I can’t even install the last beta version.

EDIT: typo

Not really related to Avast though is it, you messed up your own system with a botched install of Norton over Avast ::slight_smile: you would be better sticking to your original topic and providing some logs for one of the specialists to look over and see if they can fix your mess.

why is it not related to Avast? I used the Norton removal tool yesterday so I no longer have Norton.

But didn’t you say in your other topic you installed Norton first then removed Avast, Norton has obviously corrupted your Avast installation preventing complete removal and that’s why you now have issues trying to re-install Avast, then you removed Norton and installed Avira and probably further messed up the system ::slight_smile:

imo you are probably better off removing all third party AV’s…upgrade the system to the latest Win 10 and use the built in Defender which will be simpler for you to maintain and hopefully you cant mess that up.

I just updated my avast
Everything should be working fine and perfectly

IE is also working fine with no issues

But Icon is not showing correectly

Installed using offline installer on Windows 10 Pro version 1709 build 16299.248, 64-bit PC.

Missing text has been added back when right-clicking the Recycle Bin, not so on this PC.

So, I ran Back up settings, clean install (inc. avastclear.exe in safe mode), Restore settings.

Still have the issue with Missing text has been added back when right-clicking the Recycle Bin.

Also, all exclusions now lost, Backup/Restore Settings does not restore my exclusions.
