Version: 18.6.2349

Wasn’t able to reproduce this on Avast IS.

I just confirmed it myself, on one of my other systems.
(Avast - Free / Offline installer / Clean install / Win8.1Pro,x64)

It could be related to Avast Free but I doubt it.

See attached image.

Edit: Bug specific to Windows 8.1 64bit operating system.

Appears specific to Win 8.1 64 Bit.

If I were to guess, I’d rather say that it’s related to the offline installers, and user routines regarding the install procedure.
Personally, I always use the offline installers, run clean installs, and configure everything to my liking before I grant internet access to any software that I use.
This procedure has always worked just fine with Avast, except for this latest version.
There is definitely an issue with it!

That may be, but it seems that every new version of the program is now labeled as a “Security update”, no matter what changes and fixes were made. Is this not true?

Nope, it works for me.

I wonder if it’s worth asking that kind of question
“security” is to be taken in the broad sense of the term, even the fix of this version can be considered as security update.
So , as far I’m concerned ,I consider…

- Site blocking works again
... as a security update regardless hight or low priority. On the other hand, avast has chosen to display "security update" in its UI for program updates, so devs will not have fun changing this every time there is an update. :-\ I prefer that avast looks at problems (they always have something to do) rather than a display for the pleasure of the eyes

Hello,

traduction issue in french UI

Menu->Mes licences (my licenses) is in english

Clean Install of this latest version of Avast.https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=93544.msg1473599#msg1473599

Same here.

Before anyone else states that “it works for me”…
To verify this issue, you need to perform a clean install offline (using the offline installer), and then try to configure the program update settings offline!
This is how you reproduce this particular issue (which have never existed in previous Avast versions)!!

Well, doing an offline install while completely offline will, when done this way, give you a different outcome than if you were online while installing. Granted, if you have Windows 10, you are protected by Windows Defender and are safer doing this online than when installing on XP with no a/v installed. So, the option to install while online an a/v while running XP isn’t a really safe option. To me, this shows how old XP really is and points to the fact it really needs to be put to bed.

I’ve seen fixes come in while online and installing vs. and when installing offline they don’t. Only fix for is to run Avast EmUpdater/connect to the internet after install is done and/or reboot, which will automatically invoke EmpUdate anyway on restart.

Program update OK.What I’ve seen so far. The lack of translation in my licenses is not translated into Portuguese from Portugal and Portuguese Brazilian.I do not know if other languages besides the this also occurs, even with clean installation is english.

Bug is with the behavior shield, the avast icon is suddenlythe icon status changes for attention.I open the interface avast and it shows that the behavior shield is disabled, I close the interface and icon returns to show that it is ok.but put the mouse pointer and displays the attention message.

Hi,
since the update to the new version I have no access to the network. (Intern/Extern) It also don´t depent which browser I use.
If I deactivate all Avast Modules the network access works.

Win10Pro 1803

Confirmed for the German version.

Which Avast version ?? Free Paid, which one? Sounds more like a firewall problem.
