I received the above from download.com today. I have not downloaded this version. The version I’m running is 4.8.1335. My question is is this the same version I am running now?
I figure if I don’t ask the question I will not know.

download.com does show that 4.8.1335.90414 is the latest version of Avast.

But, I just tried to do a manual update of Avast and it says I have the latest version.(4.8.1335).

This is an odd one, Maybe someone from Alwil can explain this.

I think the numbers were appended by download.com and maybe should report to 2009.04.14, date it was added.

Actually, the number means the date of the VPS file embedded in the setup package.

The latest program version is still 4.8.1335, and if you let avast update its definitions automatically, you’re up to date.
