the avast team have mentioned “before year end” as a time frame … they may not have made this decision firmly yet.
When they are ready to run a beta program they will advise this forum. Given past practice I doubt that you will get any more information than that.
Just a thought, do you think the same operating systems be supported as 4.8 does?
I really hope so because there arent that many now that are as good as Avast and that support 98 and ME.
Version 5 should continue to support win9x and winME as before.
The same exceptions will be in play though as with 4.8, there may be functions that aren’t able to run with those older OSes.
