Version 5 - I can no longer download e-mail messages and it won't register

Hi,

I downloaded Version 5 - free and now I can’t download my e-mail messages to Thunderbird. I changed no settings in TB, just downloaded avast free 5.

Also, I read that you’re supposed to click Registration and there’s supposed to be a Register Now button. I don;t see that anywhere so my registration is due to expire 5-1-2010 and I have no idea how to re-register.

I use Windows XP Pro and have 1 GB of RAM with a 160GB hard drive that’s mostly empty.

Can someone help me with bot these problems?

Thank you.

Same thing here. Vista Security says it is out of date, too.

To keep from being pestered to death, you can turn off the email scanner and tell Windows Security not to check the antivirus.

So AVG kills Windows Defender, Avira practices advanced annoyance techniques every time you boot, and now this. ClamAV?

Try avast repair and reboot

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

There are two methods of registering avast! Free Antivirus 5.0 license key:

  1. YOUR REGISTRATION screen will appear, where just click ‘Register now’ button to open the registration form. - - - Unfortunately, when I click om Registration NO Register Now button or balloon or bubble appears.

In fact, nowhere on the screen do the words Register Now or the word “Now” appear.

So, I still can’t register.

Can I simply e-mail the info needed to avast?

What e-mail address would I send to?

Thank you.

do you mean to do the offline register ? http://www.avast.com/en-eu/license-center
or to contact avast ? http://www.avast.com/en-eu/contacts

Have you tried to do a new install ?
