I upgraded to avast pro recently and experienced nothing but problems with it.
Repeated requests for support resulted in some belated replies but all that I ended up having to do was disable most of avast pro’s features!
I am left with just file shield (with lots of mods) and web shield, still running so I might as well have just stuck with the free version.
So is there any way to get my money back ?
I have tried contacting customer services about this twice but not had any response.
If you can explain what the problems are then maybe we can help, please also supply information about your system spec’s and other security software installed.
I have had to disable the mail shield as my email program continually complains about it’s security certificates or something are being interfered with. Avast support advice was to delete the security certificates or something. Though there was an issue with this when I was using avast free and is one of the reasons I upgraded as I could never get it sorted before.
I have had to disable the deepscreen thing as it continually analyses files for quite some time (a lot longer than the indicated 15 seconds) and this disrupts all sorts of things. It stops software installs working, continally insists on anlysing the same files and stops software loading/running and is generally a real pain-in-the-bum.
I have had to disable the sandbox as it would not behave it’s self, I have an SSD for my primary drive so wanted to move the sandbox folder but it keps resetting it’s self and putting the folder back on C:\
I have had to disable the software updater as it continually keeps wanting to download and install adobe crap which I never allow on my PC’s
The safezone is a waste of time, same goes for browser clean-up, my browser takes care of all that and more besides by it’s self.
I just can’t figure out what is going on with avast pro, I never had any problems when I was using the free version, apart from the email one. Avast support is a disappointment and the fact that avast customer service never reply to enquiries is annoying.
PC is running Win 7 Pro on AMD Piledriver FX 8320 8 core CPU, 16Gb Kingston DD3 Asus Sabertooth FX990 mainboard. Only other security type software running is Win firewall.
I am not really interested in trying to get it working properly any more, I feel I have given avast support and avast customer services plenty of opportunities to resolve the issues but they have failed.
