Whilst running Avast anti virus i seem to have become infected with Win32 Virtrob virus. Does anyone have any information about removing this virus.
v5 can cure it (Virtob is the only generation of Virut cleanable with avast)… but remember, there’s no guarantee when we’re dealing with Virut family… you should perform the disinfection in offline mode (at least from boot-time scan)… if the infection reappears, there will be probably no way but format + reinstall…
Hi cookson,
I agree with Maxx, but again please don’t forget to turn off your system restore to avoid replication on your backup windows.
cheers,
hi cookson
best turn off System Restore when you run boot-time scan just in case you are lucky in the detectiion.
if this is recent, then the damage may not yet be caused. Good luck.
