I am trying out Oracle VM Virtual Box. I can not connect through to the net and am pretty sure it has to do with needing to configure Avast. I am using Avast 8.0.1497 Free on a Windows XP Pro SP3. Does anyone have any guidance to offer?

Hi, please check the "Internet Connection Sharing mode" checkbox on the Firewall / Expert settings dialog. That should help.

Oeps, you don’t have the avast firewall.
Did you install avast in the box or on the host?
