My wife works for a transcription company,she uses a virtual mp3 player which is on their website,there is no software to download.After a week off for Xmas the mp3 controls no longer work…with Avast disabled they start working again…presumably this is due to a recent update.I have used Avast for many years without a single problem…any suggestions would be appreciated.
What operating system, and is it 32 or 64 bit
What version of avast (full version number) and is it the free version or one of the paid versions.
What browser are you or she using, and what version.
Do you have the AOS browser add on/extension installed - if you do, then try disabling it.
If that doesn’t work, try temporarily disabling just the web shield.
If that does work, and you are using the latest version of Avast 2014.9.0.2011, and your operating system is Windows 7 or higher you could try the avast issued modification to the Web shield .ini file
websheld.ini - add the following two lines, exactly as shown
[General]
UseStreamFilter=0
You would need to temporarily turn off avast self protection mode, and do the modifications with windows notepad (run as an administrator). Don’t forget to turn the avast self protection mode back on after making the change, and I would recommend rebooting before retesting.
