I’ve virtualised my browsers, but what folders should be virtualised (if any).
I entered Program Files (x86) but that doesn’t seem to work at all.

How did you virtualise your browser?
Are you setting up a virtual machine?
Was it through AIS, Sandboxie or another way?
What folders were you trying to add?
If you are using AIS or Sandboxie you don’t need to add any.
It is AIS. It also seems to put anything it wants in the sandbox, it was running the Flash Player from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ and Firefox was
reporting it as unresponsive, so i terminated it and Flash was working again.
Don’t know why Flash won’t work in the Sandbox though.
Flash should work fine. Is your Flash up-to-date?
Check your add-ons in Firefox, just to make sure it wasn’t disabled.
For the record…you don’t need to add anything to the AIS sandbox since AIs will find what it needs. 8)
If i put my browser or anything as Virtualized, it will eventually go bananas, i have to turn it off. No one else with this problem?
By “virtualized” do you mean sandboxed? ???
yes
What OS?
Which version of avast?
Windows 7 Home Premium. Avast 2014. This is the same problem that i hade with version 8 i think it was. The error that starts is that the windows screen starts flickering, jumping between tabs and programs that is started, making it impossible to do anything but to shut down the computer with the button. This is the best way i can describe it.
Avast 2014 Internet Security, Windows Vista Home premium , I’m experiencing problems with freezes consistently when attempting to use the “sandbox or the safe-zone”. Most times I get an error message stating that the Shock-wave plug-in is not responding and then I’m prompted to continue with plug-in or stop plug-in,…either way, the machine freezes and a manual shutdown/reboot is needed to recover. You-tube videos cannot be played at all without freezing in these modes. This problem did not begin until the update. If sandbox and safe zone is avoided, avast 2014 works fine.
I have the same problem. I have Windows Vista HP and updated to the latest AIS 2014. Now when I enter the safezone for my homebanking, I get an error message related to shockwave flash not responding (or similar). Then the PC freezes and I need to switch it off to restart. Also the verification of Java fails in the same way. Moreover the browser in the sandbox also fails and the PC freezes. I have reported the problem to Avast but at the moment I have no solution. I guess it is an AIS bug of the 2014 version, as with the previous 8.XX everithing was fine.
Has someone a suggestion?
Thanks and regards.
Luca
Luca,
I finally gave up on AIS 9.0 2014 and returned to AIS 8.0.1497 ,…setting the program updates to manual to prevent re-updating to 9.0, …hopefully a resolution will be forthcoming in future updates.
