My Start Menu has two new entries at one of my shortcuts that I don’t recall having activated and would like to stop. One is “Always Run in Sandbox” and the other is “Run Virtualized.” Where and how can I turn these features off? I don’t know what they are and don’t want or need them. Thanks!
Do you mean ‘context menu’
I take it you have a Pro version (paid), but you do not say
O.S. is always useful
Open the Avast GUI then expand Real Time Shields
Select Process Virtualization and read about it
I’d keep them just in case, but you can uninstall them through control panel>programs>change and deselect
if you don’t want it it’s as simple as that >>> go to Avast uninstall entry in add/remove programs, click on it, choose change, and un-check “virtualization feature”, then reboot and you’re done.
Thank you both very much; your advice worked flawlessly. Particularly as I am working with a small Netbook, that feature was taking up precious space, but more to the point, among my abundant character flaws is a strong dislike for things I didn’t ask for and don’t understand.
It can be also turned on/off directly in GUI:
Real-time shields / Process Virtualization / Expert Settings → “Integrate into the right-click context menu for: all users/administrators only”
