Hello - my first post - i have two computers, a Vaio laptop running Vista, and an old desktop running XP. Both appear to be infected by a Virtumonde virus although there appears to be no ill effects. Both have Avast, but occasionally I run Spybot which spends quite a time scanning Virtumonde, although does not show it as a threat. Should I worry? Is there a way of getting rid of it? Thanks for listening
Malwarebytes should be able to remove it…
run a quick scan and post the log here…remeber to updated before you run it

@j3
Do you have latest avast? Did you run boot-time scan?
I ask because the avast boot time scan had to be able to remove this malware.
This non-resident scanner can also do a good job here, download from here:

I use this software for disinfecting and removing file infector.
Hi magna86,
Thanks for above additional cleansing info.You are right, because this software has a good “tracking record” for where such a file infector is concerned,
