For the future, if you need it
To turn system restore off
Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click System Restore.
Click to add a check mark beside Turn off System Restore on all Drives, and click Apply.
When you are warned that all existing Restore Points will be deleted, click Yes to continue.
To turn back on
Steps to turn on System Restore
- Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab.
- Click to clear the Turn off System Restore check box. Or, click the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box.
- Click OK.
After a few moments, the System Properties dialog box closes
