I have-repeatedly-been getting two Avast pop-up dialogue boxes. The first is malware virus detected. Within a milisecond (almost as if it was a mistake) a “Trojan virus blocked” box appears overlaying the first pop-up. It goes on to detail that it’s about a "Process C:\ProgramData Domain anti-phishing.exe. There’s more to this but I can never get the pop up to stay “up” long enough to right it all down. And my Avast reports show nothing is amiss!!!) I have run malware bytes. I have run Avast Boot scan & I have run a full Avast scan…repeatedly. I have stayed off the internet. Yet I continue to get these messages-even when I’m looking just @ my laptop screen! During all of this I will also get the usual Avast (green) screen dialogue box that says my system is secured. So which it it? It’s driving me nuts!!!
I have “dug down” into my laptop and I don’t have ANY Data Domain &/or anti-phishing.exe files either.
This has only started about a week ago or so. Every scan I’ve performed comes up clean. Are these virus notices false/positives? How can I tell &/or be sure I am not damaging my computer? Please help me someone!!!
Actually, Avast! appears to be preventing further and deeper damage to your computer, as the repeated popups while not online is suspicious.
If you have access to another computer, download, transfer, and run these four programs on the affected computer AdwCleaner, Malwarebytes (you appear to already have that), OTL, and aswMBR.exe.http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0: Transfer the logs produced to a clean computer and attach them here in your next reply.
Do not attempt to fix anything found, suspicious or otherwise; we have certified volunteer malware experts for that.
Once the logs are attached using “Attachments and other options” below the reply text box you are writing in, a malware expert will be notified and come and assist you.
Let us know how the running of each program turns out, as that may become relevant to your issues.
There's more to this but I can never get the pop up to stay "up" long enough to right it all down
in top right corner of avast popup there is a pin....click it and the popup stay on screen
if you have not rebooted after a popup....you can right click avast tray icon and....show last popup
