Virus ?? blocks Avast and other removal software including rescue disk

Satellite L350, Windows 7 home

Onboard Avast turned off.

Many desktop icons switched.

Most removal programs start with a clickable choice button.
Something stops you clicking by flicking rapidly between buttons.

This also if booting from the applies to Avast rescue CD.

But programs that do not threaten the virus (eg Notepad, Excel) seem OK.

Thought it was the keyboard so removed that and used a USB one. No different.

Managed to get JRT running once from cmd window and it deleted a registry key from Chrome
But no luck with Combofix since it is stopped at the accept / decline window.

Suggestions welcome.

Please try to follow this guide here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

If its not possible you might need to get a bootable Rescue Disk up and running (USB/DVD).

Please wait for amalware removal expert, its 1:30am in europe so theres noone online right now

Thankyou for your interest Steve.

The laptop won’t boot at all from the usb version of the Avast rescue disk.
Boots Ok from the CD, but is halted at the flickeing between the scan chice radio buttion and will not commence ancy sort of actual scan.

Then try to follow the instructions in my last post, if the tools dont work in normal mode try to run them from safe mode with networking.

In case thats not working either wait for a malware expert to give further instructions

Safe mode makes no difference.

In order to boot from usb you may need to change the boot-order in the bios.
Create a bootable device as instructed in the link Steven gave you.

Now I’m back off holiday I can lay into this sucker.

Booting as I already described is not the problem.

It’s getting anything done once I have booted. That is I can’t click on “Start scan”

This is because I cannot click on any buttons, as already described.

So I cannot get beyond this screen
except that I can’t see how to upload the image

Is this 32 or 64 bit windows 7 ?
