Two days ago Avast 4.6 (home edition) informed me with blaring sirens that I got “VBS: Malware [Gen]” and “JS: Istbar [Trj]”. Besides informing me of the little pests, it did little else to help. There were NO options listed on how I could get rid of the Malware and Trojan. So I did a full and through system check to see if more options would show if I found the little beasts that way. After six hours of scanning, Avast politely told me that…
The scan had come out CLEAN.
I daresay there is something STILL on my computer because I keep getting popups on occasion [even though I use Firefox], and on some pages random words would be underlined as links.
Could somebody please explain to me what is going on? I would really like to get rid of the Malware and Istbar Trojan on my computer, but how can I do that if I can’t even trust my software?
Thanks a bunch in advance.
