I have a automation program that can read key strokes and record them for automation. Naturally AVAST thinks it is a virus. Usually I stop avast and run this program. However, today I forgot and I think avast moves the suspect file to another directory. When I run my automation package now it complains that it cannot find a file. Can someone please inform me where I can find my program and restore it. This is very urgent. Thank you for your help.
By the way is there a way to tell AVAST not to complain about this program.
Double click avast desktop icon > On the GUI, click the dropdown list > Click Virus Chest > Right click the file related to the keylogger > Click restore
Before anything else, please confirm the harmlessness of the file by sending it to VirusTotal
Another note, you may add the file on avas’t exclusion list so that it wont be detected as suspicious anymore.
For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
For the other providers (on-demand scanning such as the screen-saver or the Simple User Interface):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like * and ?.
But be careful, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.
