I’ve just re-installed Home 4, inserted the key and all seemed OK but when I ran a scan, found a virus and followed the recommendation to “move to chest” I get an error message: “Virus chest server is not running.” Why? What to do?
Try a reboot and scan again, if you know the location of the detected file, just scan that folder.
What is the malware name, the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe
Do you have any other antivirus running in this computer? How did you uninstall it?
Is avast loaded (running)? Or you’re trying to use it only on demand?
