Virus Chest Server is not running

Hello everyone,

My Avast found some objects which I wanted to place in my chest recently, however I was unable to do so. The following error appeared:

Error: Virus chest server is not running. RPC communication failed. (2147422219)

I read elsewhere that if you went to Programs and repaired it, it would fix it, but it hasn’t. Should I try it again or are there other methods I could attempt?

You could try a clean install.
Use from safe mode http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility :slight_smile:

The new aswClear.exe avast! uninstall-utility will prompt to run in safe mode and ‘Ask,’ it will handle the boot into safe mode if you answer Yes.

I would ask you for the file names, location and malware name given to these detections ?

Have you rebooted as that often resolves a multitude of sins, if not I would do that before a reinstall (which would wipe out the information requested).

The booting into Safe Mode was unnecessary. I used a program that both uninstalls a program and searches for any remaining files to uninstall avast!, reinstalled it, and now I am able to move the files to the chest.
