Hi,
what are those viruses / files called ?
first, viruses in the chest are quarantined and can’t do you no harm, unless you intentionally restore them
2nd, are you sure that you didn’t look in the “system files” section of the chest ?
Please read the Docu/help concerning avast’s chest
If you’re sure that they’re real viruses and not backups of important system files AND if your system runs properly after having removed them with avast:
then you can just delete them (imho by right-clicking them)
No, you don’t need the full version to get rid of them. The chest is a place of safe storage for detected virus/malware files, they can do no harm here.
The point of putting them there is to give the opportunity to restore a file if it was incorrectly detected or to investigate the file. If after a period of time (week or so) there are no harmful effects to your computer, then it is possible to delete it from the chest.
Right click the avast! icon and select ‘Start avast! Antivirus’ from here select Chest (Virus Quarantine), you should now be able to select the files you want to delete.
