Virus Chest

I was attempting to use a programme.
Avast identified it as a problem and placed it in the virus chest.
How do I remove it from the chest?

If infected why do you want to restore?
what malware name did avast give?

www.avast.com > support > FAQ > search for chest … See how to use chest
also search exlusions

check file at www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com / www.jotti.org

It is a programme I use, it is not malware, it is a false positive.

then it should be reportet to avast lab so that they can correct it…

what malware name did avast give the file?

You can report it using one of these options…you may add a link to this topic in case they reply here

You can upload files and report issues to avast here : http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php (select subject according to Your case)

You can use mail
send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password: infected

or you can send files from avast chest

Once you send it from the virus chest to the labs; if you accept the risk, you can restore it from the chest and add it to the exclusions at the same time.

Where exactly is the Virus Chest on the GUI of avast! antivirus?

Scan - Quarantine (Virus Chest)

Greetz, Red.

OK, thanks.

Note that you can make several things easily accessible by assigning them to the buttons right on the main UI. Right-click the buttons to see how.
