virus cleaner problem

I try and use the virus cleaner, but it won’t scan most all of my files HELP!

What virus cleaner are we talking about, aswclnr.exe downloaded from avast.com ?

This isn’t a full antivirus but a specialised tool for cleaning a specific list of true virus infections (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-virus-cleaner.html), so as such it will only be looking at files that can be infected by said viruses.

You don’t give any examples of the files that you say it won’t scan, etc. ?
The more information you give us the easier it is to help.

OK, but what is it you expect/want from it as it only deals with a small set of viruses ?
