Please help! I downloaded and installed avast virus cleaner and am having big problems with my pc. I have to uninstall and reinstall it.
I have tried this support site you have here and it boots my pc! - so can’t get on there.
There is nothing in my add/delete programs that ressembles avast virus cleaner or in my programs. I did a search and it said C:\Documents and Settings\alice
but I can see no way to uninstall the file - which is sitting on my desktop
Can you show me how? perhaps it is in my add/delete programs but there is nothing under avast there or anything like it.
There are 3 Sonic ones- audo dvd etc.
I seem to remember ‘Sonic’ being at the top of the file as it was installed.

The avast virus cleaner is a stand alone run once deal it doesn’t install anything. Or are you talking about avast 4 Home/Pro ?
The file that is sitting on your desktop (I presume that is where you download it to ?) is it aswclnr.exe and not a shortcut to the file, if so just delete it.
The virus cleaner only deals with a very limited number of virus or worm infections and it basically cleans up after an infection by one of those viruses or worms, a list of those is on this page, http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-virus-cleaner.html.
What are these big problems ?
What was the result of running aswclnr.exe any report of viruses found, etc. ?
