Virus Database update error

I, could someone help me. I can’t reach the server to update the virus database. I have 2 PC and the same version of avast home : 4.7.1043. The both are connected to the same Wireless Router. One is ok and the second i’ve just installed doesn’t work.

What do you mean with ‘doesn’t work’?
The log seems ok, updating?
Are you referring to manual or automatic updates?

No, the update is not ok. I have an error : “can’t reach the server” for both manual or automatic updates, viral database or program :cry:

I’ve check the config proxy (I have no proxy) and test the connexion just as my ohter PC.

Do you use any software firewall?
Your subscription allows the update right now (i.e., if it is not expired). Home (free) version need registering each 14 months.

Check your proxy settings into avast!:
Left click the avast icon > Settings
Update (Basic) > Details > Proxy
Make sure your browser is not set to “Work Offline” (this option is generally in the File menu).

The last option, check if the servers.def file is corrupt or 0KB (C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\servers.def). You can try and download the servers.def file, http://files.avast.com/iavs4x/servers.def and replace the one in the avast setup folder.

No software firewall, this my modem-router. My other PC is connected to this modem too and there is no problem.

I renew yesterday my registration.

The browser is OnLine.

I’ve checked my proxy settings : no proxy - I use the IE parameters and I tried also direct connexion.

I replace the servers.def file.

But nothing to do, I always get the same error.

Last error (in the setup.ini file) : unable to connect to download930.avast.com (74.86.125.41:80) server

Symantec is bad known by incompatibilities and glitches…
Do you use any other product of them?
